I have been using a personally created excel spreadsheet that tracks our monthly expenses of which I have set a budget amount for each category. Recently I added several formulas that automatically set a budget for the coming month based upon the average of the past several months. The only way I could achieve this was with a separate workbook with running totals. Each month I would have a new column with an increasingly lengthy forumla to capture the average from prior months and the most recent month. While it achieves a highly accurate budget figure for things that vary like grocery bills, electric bills, and so on, it is very difficult to make the 20 or so formula changes on each month’s budget sheet. Is there a template out there that anyone is aware of that both has a monthly budget that will change according to past actual spending that also tracks the monthly spending. We track spending each month with multiple transactions so for instance our grocery category has 15 or so entries each month, not just one figure added up at the end. What type of budget spreadhseets or perhaps software programs would achieve what I want with far less hassle? Thanks!

I work for a nonprofit in Chicago working with the Latino community providing adult basic education and vocational training. We have 3 computer labs for students and 2 community technology centers that currently do not (but SHOULD) have this software. However, being a nonprofit, we have a limited budget and are are looking for discounted software or donations. Any suggestions on either a program, donations, or both? Thanks!

I want to build a computer and this is my budget. Tell me what you think.
Peripherals-$200(I already have a printer.)
Hardware-$750
Software-$250
I am going to use the computer to do schoolwork and surf the internet. I will play games online and will also play AOE III.
I don’t plan on using it for many things so I don’t really need the best hardware. I am buying a big case though so once I get a job, I can add components.
Just so everybody knows, this is a desktop.
Revised Budget
Peripherals-$200
Hardware-$800
Software-$300
Decided to add $50 bucks to Hardware and Software in case there are any small things that I might want.

My Ex husband took the portable CD-rom to my 2000 Dell Laptop computer and uninstalled all software. I have tried to have “experts” load new software by USB connection but that won’t work. Apparently they do not have the propper equipment. At this point, what is the best solution with LEAST cost involved. I have about a $500 budget and want to use is wisely whether that be buying a new notebook or purchasing a CD-Rom.
How much woould it cost the have a DELL expert install the correct software?
Where is the cheapest option for the portable CD-rom I need?
How much would the Trade-in value be on this Comp?
Would I get a better deal selling it on Ebay?
