I have been asked to help set up an after school program for middle and high school kids who want to learn video editing. This is a non-profit organization so the budget will of course be tight, but it definitely needs to be set up for multiple users. What would some of you seasoned editors recommend we start out with, software, hardware, and equipment-wise?

I’m a simple user of computer where games are less important for me than cool applications such as those provided to make websites and organize and edit your music and photography, although i like style, design and creative color like in Windows and not always gray like in Mac, but some mac software works more smoothly. I have a restricted budget and I need to decide before the next school year begins, between Vista and Leopard, between a lap- or desktop.

I’m currently starting my new work as a Applications Consultant of a Planning & Forecasting software. I’ve studied how the software works now I need to think of a idea for a sample demo material like my own template of sample budget forecast. What kinda industry is easier to work on for a sample budget and can anyone like give me a website on like sample data….like monthly sales and cost so I can model a template around that data.
I just need a jump start on what industry to do, what is not too detailed but you can basically do alot. I don’t like to do manufacturing since I feel like I will need too many data for a manufacturing industry base sample forecast since too many raw materials and allocation of overheads.

I’ve been reviewing some other camcorders and it seems that the Sony is the best option, it fits into my budget although I’d preffer to purchase a Canon XL2, but too expensive…
I’m looking to shoot in interiors, as well as exteriors (beach in the morning with no excess of sunlight and night streets).
Software wise, I’ve installed Adobe Premiere and I’m planning on purchasing a steadicam and some lights too…

i have a windows xp home edition and i want to start producing. the problem is i dunno if i should get a fancy producing software….software thing or an entry level one. the most expierience i have had so far was using garage band. also i’m gonna be making hiphop/rap beats so something well suited for that would be good. the mic isn’t important right away so factor that out if u want to. i have a cheap one i can use already.

I’ve been given the task to design a logo for the manufacturing plant I work at. I have a budget of $0, which means I have to do this by myself. In looking online I see that there is software out there to do the actual design, but what I need help with is where to begin? In other words, where do I start? How do I get the creative juices going?
The Vision of our plant is Achieving Excellence Together – so I need to incorporate this into the logo, but I’m not sure how. Any ideas on how to begin this process would be greatly appreciated.
