ok so im looking for a good quality low end camera. the purposes of this camera will be to take pictures of my wifes custom cakes so we can build a website and to build her portfolio (her old portfolio from school and beyond got stolen when my car got robbed.) and the other purpose is family photos, normal use.
we dont need anything professional quality (cant afford a 5D or even a rebel) and were looking to spend maybe $150ish.
also, were not photographers and were not going to try to be. so something extremely compilicated is of no use to us. most likely we will be using automatic settings at all times.
i was looking at the powershot A1000is, powershot SD1100is, or maybe an E1
anybody have any recommendation? i was using the cameras yesterday at fry’s and walmart, i liked the canon’s the best. i **** kodak software, so i don’t think id ever buy their hardware. even though im sure i dont have to use it, but i just **** that easyshare crap so due to my issues with that i wouldnt use a kodak.
what you guys think?
I just ordered a Powershot A1000is with 4GB card and a case for $150 including shipping and tax. It should be here on Tuesday at the latest.
The a2000is was $160, but after shipping and tax would have come out to about $180 and I have better plans for that extra $30 so I opted to not get it.
The a1000 should be sufficient for my needs.

The full version of Photoshop, at several hundred dollars, is too expensive for my budget right now, as is the “PhotoShop Elements” at around $100 retail. Kodak’s free Easyshare is okay just for cropping and red-eye removal, and automated corrections, but really can’t do much more sophisticated and won’t let me do any significant amount of manual correction. I tried getting a used copy of Photoshop off eBay, but got burned with a pirated copy that was full of viruses – never again. I’d like a “new-in-box” software package, or a reliable download from a trustworthy source.
All told, I’d like something that can do all of the stuff to pictures that Photoshop can do to pictures, but without the price tag. And I need a Windows version, having to buy a Mac to run software would more than wipe out any savings.

Ok, i’ve always wanted to be an actor/filmmaker/camera man, and i’m 14. I’m ready to buy a REAL camera and some lighting things and microphones and editing software…what should i get? My budget for EVERYTHING is $2,000. Can you please help me with where i should start?
Also, i’ve written 9 songs and i’d really like to get them recorded with my piano and stuff, what is the best microphone i can get? Thanks!

I love photography & taking many pictures and also editing them on computer software. I only have had digital point-and-shoot cameras, the quality of the pictures are really bad. I really want to upgrade and experience using a Digital SLR camera. I don’t really know much about them, and was wondering what a good beginner one would be? Im only 16 so my budget is kind of tight so I would be looking for something on the cheaper side. Could anyone recommend something & where to buy it.
Thanks

There are some “pro” printers, made by Epson and others, that make very good black and white prints from digital photos. But they cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars, well beyond my budget.
The usual home printers and printer docks that I’ve seen in the $100 dollar range do well with color photos, but just can’t make a decent black and white print – they appear “washed out” (low contrast) and have a bluish cast instead of making true black.
Is it just having a printer that has the proper optimization to do black and white, or is there some software manipulations(s) I can try?

We need a camera that works well with the apple editing software final cut pro. This also needs to be as cheap as possible we are making a low budget movie.. This will be a documentary.
Websites would be helpful
Thanks (:
By the way.. I mean video camera when I say camera… and the budget is 1,500 we would like to stay there or under but if necessary, we will go over

am using a Mac.
Basically, I want to use multiple cameras to record a church service, all connected to my Mac, and control it from here.
It’s going to be a very low budget film.
I’ve heard of Premiere Pro, and have used a little bit of it.
But any other ideas?
How to connect the cameras to each other, if possible how to connect the church sound system?
Thanks.
