What’s a good solution for print RIPing on a budget. I am checking because of printer issues at work all the time, and having a software based RIPer would greatly increase the throughput of printing projects. Which is the best ones, and where might I check for deals on these products?
The network environment is chiefly Macintosh OS, the printers are an HP4550, HP5000, and a Xante ColorLazer. A majority of the programs people print from are in the Adobe Creative Suites 2 or 3 and Microsoft Office for Macintosh.

I work in a classroom with thirty one computers. One is my personal computer that i have all my printers installed on. One is for my assistants. I have a black laser, color laser, hp design jet plotter, and a Toshiba color copier. I need the design jet and the color copier to have a password on them for my assistants because other students have to be able to use this computer also.
I would like to do it with out any soft ware, but if i have to the technology budget is almost empty so free would be best. Also we use novel iprint on all of our printers this shouldn’t affect any software suggestions.
I can NOT create accounts using Windows we use Novell to login, it MIGHT work the same be I’m not sure. Do you know?

I bought the printer and camera off of ebay. The discs weren’t included although I thought from reading the info providing on the ebay page for the items the person was including them. I was wrong however. So now I need to find the software. I can’t afford to buy the discs. I live on a tight budget and my only income is my SSI/disability check.
