    Get google sketchup from

They have a paid-for version, but you can start with the free version, it’s very good, and great documentation.

Top end graphics card? Not really needed. A good graphics card is a good idea, but a very large monitor is better, like 20 or 22 inch, or bigger.

Go download google sketchup and give it a try.

There are some version of TurboCad that do most everything that can be done in the higher end CAD programs. Visit and read about what they offer.

But I’d start with Sketchup, if you are not familiar with computer software for architecture, this is a great way to learn, and it’s 3D which is an advanced feature, and the way they handle dimensions, labels, etc., is top notch.
