budget software
skatedrummer93 asked:

By photo software, I mean fully capable digital photo editors, such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Paint Shop, paint.NET, etc. I’m looking for one to get, and need some advice for which one to get. And keep in mind that budget is a bit of an issue, since I’m only 14. Thanks in advance for any help :) .

Gimp it’s open source and freely available and by far the best. I’m unsure of how good the windows implementation but on linux it’s awesome.

Photoshop is the only way to go… for future endeavors and/or job prospects. I am a graphic design and i have been working with photoshop for the past 13 years and i’ve never ran into anything that it can’t do. The whole Adobe Creative Suite is the best thing out there for graphic design in my opinion.

It may take some time to learn it but you will appreciate it later.

gimp is ok because its free. ( but it is not artist friendly, in my opinion)
but industry standard is adobe photoshop, hands down.
best available plugins, support, ease of use, learning curves, upgrades etc.
but again its not cheap, but worth the price if your serious about digital content, and once you buy a copy the new upgrades for the latest versions are reasonably affordable.

All the above products will do a good job for you. I do have Photoshop and really like it. It has helped me to take better pictures knowing that I can make some adjustments if necessary. I have found that by being able to make changes in my photos, I actually take more pictures rather than trying to get that perfect exposure.

*microsoft picture it* came with my dell. but if you don’t have one, it costs a lot of $$$ so that wouldn’t be much of a help
