Hey, I’m a student too and TA for a personal finance course for both MBA’s and Undergrads. Unfortunately, I have never come across such software. I would, however, recommend Quicken – you can probably find a good deal on eBay or maybe even a student deal.

As far as online goes (web-based), Quickbooks does that, but it’s probably much more complex than you’re looking for. Quicken will probably come out in an online version in the next few years. Alternatively, it’s my understanding that some banks and credit unions have some type of web-based budgeting and tracking abilities. They are usually at no extra cost, but they are more limited. This also will change with time. Good luck!
