Charlotte P asked:
I’m on a very limited budget, but I’d really like to get into photoshop art and things of that nature. Is anyone aware of a website that I could go to and get free software that is similar to photoshop?

Here’s a list of the top eight free programs. I’ve used Gimp, and Photo Plus before, and they’re pretty good.

Try The Gimp. It’s very full-featured photo/image editing software (much better than paint), and is completely free. Find it at the link below.

The Gimp is very well stocked with power and features, and for someone familiar with photoshop it is pretty intuitive. For a free program it has (be they sometimes a little hidden) all the bells and whistles one could reasonably hope for.
Another good option is the paint.net software ( ) it is not Quite as loaded on the feature side as gimp is, but it is a lttle more user friendly on the front end.
also worth noting, if this affects you at all, is the Gimp is cross platform, whereas paint.net is restricted to windows platforms.Additionally, if i recall correctly, Gimp supports a few file formats that paint.net does not

I recommend that you try a few, so you know which one you like the best, then uninstall the other ones.
1. Pixel is a great image editor, and it even looks like Photoshop!
2. The Gimp is a full featured image editor, but I don’t like it, for it doesn’t have a real ease of use.
I would say use Pixel. Have fun!
