Benson asked:
I have $250 to spend on an end of the fiscal year budget. I’m wondering how I can use it to increase my efficiency at work, where I spend much of my day on a computer.
I could live without Office. I use Open Office. I also like Picasa for my editing pictures. I also use Spybot S&D to keep spyware away and Avast Anti-virus to keep unwanted baddies away. There are a number of programs that I cannot do without. All of them are FREE.
This would depend on what your OS is because newer OS’ have more built in features in them that makes other softwares redundant. I’ll assume you’re on Win 2K. Most of these are basic stuff and freeware/shareware.

I have Office at work, and use it once or twice a month.
Now, take away Adobe Creative Suite, and I’m terminally screwed!
